Looking Back…
I wish I had…
I could have been…
I should have done…
These are often the phrases we finish when we reflect back on the year.
None of those phrases help propel us towards a better future.
These phrases are filled with fears and regrets.
Rather than looking back with a negative lens, look back through a positive one.
It really begins with gratitude.
Then consider the lessons-learned from the decisions and outcomes experienced.
From that, gain understanding for going forward.
Remember, that in the present you never make decisions with the benefit of hindsight, so don’t consider how things could have been if you had had it at the time.
This is especially true about financial decisions.

“I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. ‘Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death.”
– Thomas Paine
