Explanations aren’t Helpful
A daily dose of “that’s not helpful.”
It comes when you turn on the news, any time of day.
And it becomes even less helpful when you read it digitally in the morning and again in the afternoon.
Did you know the same article will often change titles throughout the day based on clicks or lack of clicks?
Anyway, on Monday the market news headline was ‘Stocks Sell Off Due to COVID Fears.’
Stocks did start out in the red.
Then there was a reversal of fortune for stocks mid-day. The “market” opened with a tone of fear and sell-off while down around two percent.
However, by afternoon, the “market” had reversed its fortunes.
The market news headline in the afternoon was ‘Stocks Rise as Investors Overlook COVID Fears.’
Really!?!
Investors flip-flopped that quickly?
If you follow the news cycle you will at some point begin making knee-jerk reactions, or even worse, you’ll need a daily dose of antacids, or even worse still, you could end up in the hospital with an anxiety induced medical condition.
In the short-term things in the market, and many of the important things in life, appear a failure.
Turn off the news. Ignore the headlines. Control what you can control.
You can control your spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical well-being. AND, you can control what you own in your portfolio for retirement and know why you own it.
When you know what you own and why you own it, you can more easily turn off the news and enjoy your life and retirement!
Wealth is more than money. Don’t just plan for your future, live it right now.
Pass it on and share the insights like this that you find valuable.
