Alpharetta Mayor’s Challenge Race

Alpharetta 5K - Boomfish Wealth Group, LLCRunners, at your mark…get set…go! To the 2013 Alpharetta Mayor’s Challenge Race, that is.

For the 17th year in a row, the City of Alpharetta, Georgia, and the Rotary Club of Alpharetta are hosting the 5K event on Aug. 17.

The race isn’t the end of the fun, however, with an entire evening of activities scheduled for the event.

At 6 p.m., check-in for the race begins, along with a block party! There will be food trucks, a fun zone, and sponsor booths.

Then, at 7 p.m., the Kids’ Fun Run (1K) begins on Milton Avenue. After the kids are finished, the racers can begin warming up at the corner of Milton Avenue and Canton Street.

At 7:45 p.m., the main event begins as 5K racers take off through downtown Alpharetta.

Following the race, a free concert will be head at the block party. Race awards and the raffle winner will be announced at 8:45 p.m. Bring your own lawn chairs, as the live music will last until 11 p.m.

Be sure to bring all your running pals, friends, and family to enjoy the race, dinner, and concert while raising funds for North Fulton non-profits.

To register for the race, visit Active today and pay the $25 entry fee. The Kids’ Fun is free to kids. Also, donations are always appreciated.
